An unfortunate consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic is the cancellation of their wedding the couple announced this week. They stated that “no alternative plans have been made, but hope that they can visit friends and family to spend quality time with everyone once travel restrictions are eased”.
Dear All
As you’ve seen from the headline (the first byline Peter has ever written) we have called off our wedding in August.
We sincerely hope that you and your loved ones are doing well during these peculiar times. We are fine, sheltering in Houston with more than enough things to do WFH (working from home), around the house, and on the web.
Life is unpredictable in lots of ways and we have held off as long as possible before announcing this soul denting decision. Without the proverbial crystal ball to forecast what quarantine measurements, group size limits, road restrictions and airlines will be in place and operational makes it unfair to ask you to plan for travel.
We have not cancelled getting married in 2020 and hope that a simple civil affair will be possible. We also hope that, in lieu of a single event in the mountains, once we are able to travel again we can visit you and celebrate locally. More on that as things evolve. Details will be announced on our website.
Once again, we hope you are doing as well as possible.
Take care
José and Peter
